Wrong Way Feldman

Sometimes during the month of January, I always feel like i have tunnel vision. Meaning I get into a rut and i can't seem to absorb anything outside of the basics of my day. My workouts have been C- at best. I have a couple of good days and get sidetracked. Fortunately the days are getting longer and I will be able to run in daylight near work again. A major plus. I didnt really start running until March 17 th last year so i'm still ahead of the game. I just feel like i'm getting on the ramp to workout groove only to realize i'm getting on the road in the wrong direction...only to be run over by a bag of Doritos, goldfish or Coldstone Chocolate Ice Cream cake.

Reading "How Lance Does it"...good stuff....that just says shut up, stop complaining and get it done. Now if someone would just throw away that cupcake....

Blog a-versary

OK....can't be sure of the spelling on that.....Today, one year ago...i started writing here. Still fighting some of the same battles, still have most of the same interests.

Even though i bitched in the first post about getting into shape, i dont think i started running again until March 17th and seriously until April.

But ya, i'm battling thru it.....I'm still working out....need about 30 more minutes of daylight to run before work....oh and the fact it will not be above 30 isnt given the mojo to run outside.

Catching up

I feel like i'm about 2 weeks behing where i should be in many areas. The end of the holidays and my trip to Memphis threw me off stride.

So i'm just going to "jot" down some things i want to work in the next 90 days...or until tax day (A good reference point):
--Write...I've been moving thru several books on the "craft" and i'm trying to carve out time during the day to write.
--My workouts....the black time of year....jan and feb....I'm getting my miles in...but i dont feel like i've progressed much since i did my 5k in december.
--write and post more HERE....I was very consistent last year..in fact the anniversary of this blog is about a week away.
--take more picts..again..on a roll last winter...slacking since the holidays.

We love you Global Warming

I will probably never again living in New England be able do on January 6th:

1. run 6.1 Miles (a new personal record) wearing a SLEEVEless workout shirt and shorts.

2. Take the xmas tree to the dump with the windows down.

3. Play OUT-door soccer in the same outfit as number 1.

4. Pick up take out at NIGHT where the temp is still 60....(still wearing shorts too).

5. Even thought about firing up the grill but chose choice four (OUTBACK take out...)

Winter in New England 2007 style!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (ya i know it will probably snow in may..)

Happy New Year

ok..so i'm a day late. I had a laugh when i read busymom.net's comment about the selling of organizational containers this week. We have become programmed sheep you realize? YOU will shop on BLACK FRIDAY or be left out. YOU will start that diet on January 1st...buy that treadmill...If you really want to lose weight thru diet and exercise wait til March when it warms up and you get outside.

For me its all about re-grouping. Not losing focus and hopefully adding some new elements into my workouts. The weather has been amazingly warm and already looking forward to my run this weekend when some places might see sixty.

I goofing writing a novel. The great mediocre american novel! Two writing sessions....2000 words....we'll see if i stick with it.
